Park Ratz: Mohn Park

We went a little earlier today for the park this morning. This is Mohn Park. A great playground over by Avalon Cove. The steep slide was the best part. She went down about 20 times and was sad to leave. Went spent almost an hour at the park!

Park Ratz

I’m starting a new series of blogs entitled “Park Ratz”. Audrey and I plan on visiting every single Rochester Public Playground. In total there is a list of 72 playgrounds on the Rochester Park and Rec website.

Here is the map I created on Google Maps that points out the location of each one. The pin points are parks we’ve visited and the droplet looking markers are the one’s we haven’t.

This list of 72 isn’t a comprehensive list. It doesn’t include playgrounds at elementary schools or places like the Boys and Girls Club. We eventually want to visit all of those as well.

It’s amazing how many really nice “diamond in the rough” playgrounds out there. We’re going out to find all of them!

Here are the first two parks we visited. Northern Heights Park and Cassidy Park. Northern Heights sas really hard to find. There was a paved asphalt path between two houses. If you didn’t know it was there you’d miss it.  It has really nice beach style sand.

Cassidy park it hidden behind Century High School and is about 3 blocks down a large hill off Viola Road.  There were these spinners where you could hang and spin. I swear I was spinning 50 RPM. Enough to make me sick (not really).

Trip to the Park

Lately it’s been our nightly ritual has been going to the big Playground at Silver Lake Park. Here is a short video of Audrey playing just like she does every night. Enjoy!

July 31st Thunder Storm

Yesterday morning Rochester got hammered by a fast moving thunderstorm with high winds. Needless to say out brand new umbrella is no more. I should’ve put it in the garage when I had the chance. The storm must have carried 50+ wind gusts.

Wow that new iPhone is amazing. Last night Guy snapped this picture of us with his new iPhone and had it emailed to Mara in UNDER 30 seconds.

I look like a huge dweeb in the photo… I look like I’m saying “Duh-uh… hey guys”

This phone takes the term “full functionality” to new heights. It has a built GPS, full internet, music, movies, motion control gaming - and oh wait, I almost forgot to mention that it’s a phone. what more could you want in  a gadget?
